Castle Ward have always supported the Greenway project, from 1995 to 2008 CW were key members of the Hastings Greenway Executive, a steering group tasked with developing and delivering the Greenway’s early pilot projects in or near the town centres rail corridor. Because of the current Shaping Hastings regeneration program, the town centre is changing in terms of its urban fabric and its visual character, Castle Ward (CW), the Hastings town centre’slocal community, wish to participate in the town centre’s regeneration agenda by developing a community perspective.

Hastings Greenway Group

In 2012 CW commissioned the Hastings Greenway Group (HGG) to produce a Greenway based vision for Hastings town centre. Based on key community aims and objectives, the Greenway town centre vision develops five key themes that include:

A healthier town centre

A greener town centre

A shared town centre

A prosperous town centre

A sustainable town centre
